Here Comes the Ring Bearers and Flower Girl!

Thank you for all of the prayers. We had a great time in Missouri with the kids biological family as we attended a family wedding. The kids loved being the ring bearers and the flower girl. It was an unbelievable positive experience all the way around.
The plane ride was a hoot... "Look mom! I can see Walmart from here!" The wedding was tons of fun, dancing was had by all. Even Jerome decided to dance. It took him awhile to make the leap to the dance floor as he sat and watched for more than an hour and a half, but then out of no where he jumped up, ran over to me and said, "Mom, come with me to the dance floor, I HAVE to show them my cool moves!" And off we went. I find that things "Christina" would never be comfortable with, "Mom" does with no hesitation. Oh how kids can pull you out of your comfort zone!
My mom gave Kendra a Barbie wedding dress from when she was a little girl before we left, and I gave Kendra "will you marry me" Ken at the rehearsal dinner. And she sure enjoyed playing wedding! The kids have their pillows here at the house, and we are role playing daily! What fun!
Any of the fears I had going into the weekend were put out quick. It couldn't have gone off any better. The kids enjoyed nothing but positive interactions between adoptive and biological family members. Truly a wonderful time to remember!

Disney on Ice

We went to Disney on Ice when they came to Orlando... No, the tickets were not free (as everyone assumes that Lowell got us free tickets). We had a blast.. Lowell had to work, so we asked my mom to join us. The kids loved it! They went dressed as their fave Disney characters, Buzz, Woody and Minnie Mouse.

We also went to a Men's formal wear store to have the boys measured for the tux rental for the wedding. What a hoot! The kids LOVED it. Did you know that in a tri-fold mirror you can see your reflection 7 times.... I did not know that before we went, but found out while we were being measured. Evidently a tri-fold mirror was a new thing for my kids, because they couldn't stop dancing in front of it. I felt sorry for the clerk who was trying to measure the kids! Jerome insisted that he wanted an all white tux. Too bad for him the wedding colors are brown and teal, so he is stuck with a brown tux!

Just Tired

After getting back into the swing of things at school (today was only our 10th day even though we are almost through our 3rd week), and surviving the mountain of laundry after being out of town for Labor Day, I am just plain tired.

The kids are enjoying their new teachers... and all seems to be working out great! I am so happy with all of their teachers, so thanks for the extra prayers.

My class could use some prayers.. I looped with 17 from last year, but have 7 new ones who seem very very LOW academically. Hopefully I can get them on track soon!

Lowell is now on day schedule with work, and was home with us 3 nights this week, and scheduled to be home every night next week. YEA!!! This is something to celebrate!

We had a great Labor Day weekend at my parents' rental house in South Florida. The kids were able to do their chores at the rental, and loved the "double" allowance earned as my mom paid them too! What could make a trip better?

No other real news to report. We are preparing for our trip to Kansas City where the kids will be in their biological great aunt's daughter's wedding (did you follow that?). They are very excited, and cannot wait to ride in a plane! We are happy that their great aunt paid for the trip as 5 airline tickets are not cheap!

Have a good week!
